The Primodial Mind, A Master of Puns and Jokes, Arc Warden

Wondering why you're here now is because you're one of Dota 2 Fans, or just simply stranded here out of nowhere, I mean, no-where, not a Nowhere Planet from The Marvell Cinematic Universe. So, I presume that you probably already know who Arc Warden is. Well, he is one of the most unique and complex heroes in the game. The mysterious and powerful hero who can create a perfect copy of himself and wreak havoc on the enemy team with his Tempest Double, it has all his items and abilities, allowing him to split push, farm, and fight with twice the efficiency. He is one of the most unique and versatile heroes in the game. He can also manipulate the magnetic field to slow and silence enemies, summon spark wraiths that deal damage and provide vision, and he can unleash a powerful blast of electricity that pierces spell immunity. He can also manipulate space and time with his other skills, such as Flux and Magnetic Field.

So, Noobers, for today's cover of Dota 2 Heroes, I want to share with you my thoughts on one of the most unique and fascinating heroes in the game, Arc Warden. You may know him as the master of clones, the lord of spark wraiths, or even, you can call him 'The guy who always buys Divine Rapier.' But do you really know his story, his skills, and his potential? Did you know that Arc Warden is also the reason why the War of the Ancients hasn't begun yet? If not, then buckle up as I already prepared some fun that you'll hardly find, even on the net. So, get ready for a wild ride into the life of Arc Warden!

But, before we begin with his Lore, I'll invite you to know something hilarious about him.

Arc Warden and What's so Funny about Him.

Well, what so funny about Arc Warden is, that, he has a hidden talent that makes him the funniest hero in Dota 2?

Arc Warden is a master of puns and jokes. He has a witty remark for every situation, and he never misses an opportunity to make fun of his enemies, allies, or even himself. And do you know what so surprising is? He actually has a secret phobia that makes him terrified of spiders? You hear me right, The Mighty Zet, who seeks to end the war between the Ancients, is arachnophobic!

So, how do we know this? Well, it's not explicitly stated in his lore or voice lines, but there are some clues that hint at his fear of eight-legged creatures. For example, one of his innate abilities is called Flux, which infuses a lone enemy unit with swirling, volatile energy, dealing damage over time. The damage is not applied if another enemy unit is near the target. This means that Arc Warden prefers to isolate his enemies and attack them when they are alone, which is a common behavior of arachnophobes who want to avoid spiders at all costs.

Another clue is his interaction with Broodmother, one of the most spider-like heroes in the game. When Arc Warden kills Broodmother, he says "You are an abomination" or "You disgust me". When he dies to Broodmother, he says "No... not you..." or "No... Not like this...". These lines suggest that Arc Warden has a deep hatred and fear of Broodmother, and by extension, spiders.

But the most convincing evidence comes from his cosmetic items. Arc Warden has a set called the Fractured Envoy, which gives him a blue cape with a spider web pattern on it. Why would Arc Warden wear something that reminds him of his worst nightmare? The answer is simple, because he's trying to overcome his phobia by facing it head-on. He's wearing the cape as a form of exposure therapy, hoping that by seeing spider webs every day, he will eventually become less afraid of them.

Another fact that makes him so funny is that his hilarious humor about what he's trying to say when you hear him closely after some terms executed, here are some:

  • When he kills an enemy hero, he says "You were out of your element."When he kills an enemy hero with his clone, he says "Two heads are better than one."
  • When he kills an enemy hero with his spark wraith, he says "You were too slow."
  • When he kills an enemy hero with his flux, he says "You should have stuck together."
  • When he kills an enemy hero with his tempest double, he says "Double trouble."
  • When he kills an enemy hero with his magnetic field, he says "You were not attractive enough."
  • When he kills an enemy hero with his spark wraith and tempest double, he says "Triple kill."
  • When he kills an enemy hero with his spark wraith, tempest double, and magnetic field, he says "Quadruple kill."
  • When he kills an enemy hero with his spark wraith, tempest double, magnetic field, and flux, he says "Penta kill."
  • When he kills an enemy hero with his spark wraith, tempest double, magnetic field, flux, and spark wraith again, he says "Hexa kill."
  • And so on, he says "Septa kill." and on, "Octa kill." and on until "Deca kill." (LMAO 😆)

You can find the source of his voice from The Dota 2 Wiki and The Official Site of Dota 2 Video Game. As I mention before, it's not explicitly stated in his lore or voice lines, but you may try it and hear it yourself. After all, it's just some funny lines that I make for you.

Okay, let's move on about who he really is.

Arc Warden and His Life

Well, if you're still here, then it means you'll a bit interesting about what will I tell you next. So, let's start about 'The guy who always buys Divine Rapier' and how he is also the reason why the War of the Ancients hasn't begun yet.

Arc Warden's real name is Zet, and he is one of the four Fundamentals, ancient beings that embody the primal forces of the universe. That's right, Arc Warden is actually a primordial mind that existed before the creation of the universe. He represents the primordial energy of creation and destruction, the balance between light and dark, order and chaos. He was one of the three fragments of a greater presence, along with Radiant and Dire, who were locked in a vicious conflict. He split himself into two halves: Arc Warden and his nemesis, the Worldsmith. The Worldsmith sought to shape the universe according to his own vision, while Arc Warden opposed him and tried to preserve the original state of creation. He was one of the three fragments of a greater presence, along with Radiant and Dire, who were locked in a vicious conflict. Their conflict lasted for eons, until they finally met in a cataclysmic battle that shattered the Primordial Mind and created countless worlds, including the one where Dota 2 takes place.

Arc Warden wanted to end the disharmony and restore the unity of the original mind, so he gathered all his power and fused Radiant and Dire into a single sphere, which he then hurled into the darkness to orbit a nondescript world. He then became the warden of this prison, keeping watch over his siblings until time's end.

However, over aeons, the prison began to crack and eventually shattered, releasing Radiant and Dire to sow their conflict anew. Arc Warden was also affected by the explosion, becoming split into many fragments of himself, each connected by a fleeting arc of consciousness.

Arc Warden was banished to a dark realm, where he remained dormant for ages. He was awakened by the Mad Moon, a mysterious celestial body that contained the remnants of the Primordial Mind. The Mad Moon was also the source of the Radiant and Dire energies that fuel the war between the two factions in Dota 2. Arc Warden sensed his old enemy's presence in the Mad Moon, and decided to join the fray. He then joined the battle on the world below, hoping to end the war once and for all. He used his power to create a clone of himself, which he sent to the battlefield as his proxy. His ultimate goal is to destroy the Mad Moon and end the Worldsmith's influence once and for all.

Gameplay

Arc Warden's gameplay is based on his ability to create clones of himself that can use all of his items and abilities. His first skill is Flux, which slows down and damages a single enemy unit over time. His second skill is Magnetic Field, which creates a circular area that grants evasion and attack speed to allied units inside it. His third skill is Spark Wraith, which summons a ghostly apparition that patrols a small area and explodes when an enemy comes near, dealing damage and slowing them. His ultimate skill is Tempest Double, which creates a perfect copy of Arc Warden that lasts for a short duration. The clone can use all of Arc Warden's items and abilities, except for consumables and items with long cooldowns.

Playstyle

Arc Warden's playstyle is very versatile and complex. He can be played as a carry, a support, or even a split-pusher. He can use his clone to farm multiple lanes or jungle camps at once, or to join team fights from a safe distance. He can also use his clone to scout for enemies or set up traps with Spark Wraiths. He can build various items depending on his role and situation, but some of his most popular choices are Mjollnir, Necronomicon, Scythe of Vyse, and Divine Rapier. Arc Warden is a hero that requires a lot of micro-management skills, map awareness, and strategic thinking. He is not recommended for beginners, but he can be very rewarding for experienced players who master his mechanics.

Conclusion

Arc Warden is one of my favorite heroes in Dota 2 because he offers a lot of fun and challenge, although it's really hard to master his gameplay and I often stucked for being an ATM for the enemy's team when I play him. He has a rich lore and personality, and he has a unique voice that reflects his dual nature. He often talks to himself or his clone, sometimes arguing or mocking each other. He also has some hilarious lines when he buys certain items or kills certain enemies. For example, when he buys Divine Rapier, he says "A weapon worthy of my cause...or causes." and maybe that's why he also called 'The guy who always buys Divine Rapier.' Also, When he kills Faceless Void, he says "Time is not your ally...nor your enemy...nor anything at all." When he kills himself or his clone, he says "I am beside myself...or am I?"

As you can see, Arc Warden is not only a powerful, a versatile and an annoying hero, but he is also a hilarious one. He always has a pun or a joke ready for every occasion, and he never fails to make us laugh, well at least for me when I play him and closely put my attention in every detail of his moves and sounds. He is truly one of the funniest heroes in Dota 2.
