Male and Female Design of Ancient Apparition, a Hero from Dota 2 |
As one of the fellow Dota 2 Fans or Players, I'm sure you know about Ancient Apparition. But, have you ever wondered what the life of Ancient Apparition is like? Well, wonder no more, because for today's cover of Dota 2 Heroes, I have the exclusive scoop on the coolest (literally) hero in the game. Let's head on and be amazed.
Fun Facts!
Here are some fun facts about Ancient Apparition that maybe, you may not know about:
- Ancient Apparition is not actually a living being, but a projection of the heat death of the universe. He is the embodiment of entropy, the inevitable decay of all things. He is so cold that he can freeze time and space, and shatter his enemies with a touch.
- His real name is Kaldr, which means "cold" in Old Norse. He is also known as the Frost Mage, the Ice Vortex, and the Chilling Touch. He likes to chill (pun intended) in the Frozen Pole, where he watches over the world with his icy gaze.
- He has a very unique skill set that makes him a versatile and powerful support hero. His first skill, Cold Feet, freezes an enemy in place after a few seconds, unless they move away from the initial cast point. His second skill, Ice Vortex, creates a swirling storm of frost that slows down enemies and amplifies magic damage. His third skill, Chilling Touch, grants bonus magic damage to himself and his allies for a limited number of attacks. His ultimate skill, Ice Blast, is one of the most devastating abilities in the game. It launches a huge ball of ice that travels across the map, damaging and freezing anyone in its path. The freeze prevents any healing or regeneration, and can instantly kill anyone below a certain threshold of health.
- He has a very distinctive voice and personality. He speaks in a calm and cold tone, often making jokes and puns about ice and cold. He is also very sarcastic and cynical, as he knows that everything will eventually end in nothingness. He likes to mock his enemies for their futile attempts to resist him and taunt his allies for their ignorance of the cosmic truth.
- He has a lot of friends and foes in the Dota 2 universe. He is allied with heroes who share his affinity for ice and cold, such as Crystal Maiden, Lich, Winter Wyvern, and Tusk. He is also friendly with heroes who are ancient or cosmic in nature, such as Elder Titan, Enigma, Faceless Void, and Keeper of the Light. He is enemies with heroes who represent fire and heat, such as Lina, Ember Spirit, Phoenix, and Huskar. He is also hostile to heroes who are immortal or defy death, such as Wraith King, Undying, Abaddon, and Oracle.
Play Ancient Apparition to The Fullest Extent Possible
Ancient Apparition is a hero that can make a huge impact in any game if played correctly. He is a support hero that can provide a lot of utility and damage to his team, while also being a threat to the enemy team. Here, I'd like to share with you some tips and tricks that I know on how to play Ancient Apparition to the fullest extent possible.
Skill Build
The most common and effective skill build for Ancient Apparition is to max out Ice Vortex first, followed by Chilling Touch, and then Cold Feet. Ice Vortex is your main tool for harassing, zoning, and setting up kills. It has a low cooldown and mana cost, and it can slow down enemies and amplify magic damage. Chilling Touch is your secondary tool for boosting your team's damage output. It can help you secure last hits, trade hits, and burst down enemies. Cold Feet is your least priority skill, as it is unreliable and easy to counter. However, it can still be useful in some situations, such as when you have a reliable stun or root to combo with it. Ice Blast is your ultimate skill, and you should always level it up whenever possible. It is one of the most powerful ultimates in the game, as it can damage and freeze enemies across the map. It can also prevent any healing or regeneration, and kill anyone below a certain threshold of health.
Item Build
The most common and effective item built for Ancient Apparition is to start with some basic support items, such as Tangoes, Healing Salve, Clarity, Observer and Sentry Ward. You should also get a Magic Stick or a Magic Wand as soon as possible, as it can help you survive and sustain your mana. Your core items are Tranquil Boots, Aether Lens, and Glimmer Cape. Tranquil Boots provide you with movement speed, armor, and health regeneration. Aether Lens increases your cast range and spell damage, which are very important for Ancient Apparition. Glimmer Cape gives you invisibility and magic resistance, which can help you escape or initiate fights. Your luxury items are Aghanim's Scepter, Scythe of Vyse, Octarine Core, and Refresher Orb. Aghanim's Scepter upgrades your Ice Blast, making it last longer and have a lower cooldown. Scythe of Vyse gives you a powerful hex that can disable any enemy. Octarine Core reduces your cooldowns and gives you a spell lifesteal. Refresher Orb allows you to use your skills twice in a row.
Playstyle
The playstyle of Ancient Apparition is to be a global presence that can assist your team in any fight or gank. You should always be aware of the map and look for opportunities to use your Ice Blast. You should also use your Ice Vortex to scout, slow, and amplify damage. You should use your Chilling Touch to buff your allies' attacks and deal extra damage. You should use your Cold Feet sparingly, only when you have a good setup or when you need to deter enemies from chasing you. You should always stay in the backline of fights, as you are very fragile and vulnerable to burst damage. You should also avoid using your Glimmer Cape on yourself, unless absolutely necessary. You should use it on your allies who are in danger or who are initiating fights.
